Visualizing the Filter: A Modular Experiment
To further test this system as an active filter, I embedded personal archival photographs from Korea, Indonesia, and Singapore into its geometric framework. I then sliced these landscapes along the structural lines of the grid and recombined the fragments into newly built forms. This iterative process physicalizes the cross-cultural experience. It shows that identity is a modular construction. The resulting forms display how we process foreign environments by actively cutting and fitting them into the foundational framework of our native roots.
