Symposium presentation initial sequence:

  • line of enquiry needs to be stated clearly in the intro
  • general aim –> different demonstrations
  • “unsmoothing” is the response to the concern of this project

  • the presentation is focused too much on the references –> my studio work need to be more emphasized
    • how the use of the medium deepened my enquiry? (what/why/how)
    • scale down on the theoretical parts
  • provide definition of “smoothing” and the process

  • break the sections in more slides
    • explain the dancheong typeface in more detail
  • display the key terms/definitions on the slide
  • “smoothing” –> find different examples of map smoothing
    • transit map
    • territory labeling in maps?
  • also briefly talk about what are the benefits of “smoothing”
  • end with images of my own practice
  • put the sequence in the order of: reference –> my studio work –> reference –> my studio work
